WORKSHOP ORGANIZED FOR CAPACITY STRENGTHEINING SPECIALISTS

Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ Millennium Challenge Account-Mongolia (MCA-M) Technical and Vocational Education and Training Project in cooperation with its sub-project on Policy and Operational Framework Reform (POFR) organized a “Workshop for Capacity Strengthening Specialists” in Ulaanbaatar Hotel conference hall February 26, 2010.
The main aim of the workshop was to discuss on-going reform process undertaken in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector, and to exchange views and experiences of works/endeavours towards strengthening the Public Private Partnerships (PPP) at regional and local levels. Within a year, the project has trained 19 national specialists on institutional capacity building of the sector, to implement a Capacity Development Program at TVET institutions on the overall VET reform process. The specialists have successfully fulfilled their tasks in line with the contract signed with the project, and came to report their performances and achievements in this seminar. In addition, they have discussed their future work plans as well as findings of a ‘Questionnaire Survey of TVET providers’ that was conducted to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the capacity development required for the human resource at TVET institutions.
Moreover, in order to ensure the sustainability of the POFR project outputs, the workshop participants discussed on how to involve these already trained and competent specialists in future activities of MCA-M TVET project as well as sub-projects implemented within the TVET project.
