Yemen, China discuss cooperation in fisheries area

SANA'A, Feb.28 (Saba) - Minister
of Fisheries Mohamed Shamlan discussed here on Sunday with the Chinese ambassador in
Sana'a
Liu Denglin areas of cooperation in the fisheries field and activation of the
Chinese investments in this field.
In the meeting, the two sides dealt with the arrangements for the visit of the
minister, Shamlan, and a number of Yemeni officials to China to get acquainted with
the Chinese
experiences in the fisheries field and to take advantage of them in Yemen.
In this regard, Shamlan expressed Yemen's keenness to avail from the Chinese
experience in the fields of ports management and fish exporting.
He valued aspects of support presented by the Chinese government to finance
fisheries project in Yemen, topped by rehabilitation of the fishing port in Aden
province.
For his part, the Chinese ambassador affirmed his country's keenness to contribute
to develop and promote the fisheries sector in Yemen, since China is one of the
largest
Asian importers of Yemeni fish.
