EARTHQUAKE HITS SAUMLAKI, MALUKU
Ambon, Maluku, June 26 (ANTARA)- An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale jolted Saumlaki, West Southeast Maluku District, Maluku Province, on Thursday at 9.44 am local time.
The earthquake's epicenter was located at 7.03 degrees southern latitude, and 131,02 degrees eastern longitude, around 109 km northwest of Saumlaki, at a depth of 69 km below sea level, according to Head of the Ambon Geophysics Station Benny Sipolo here on Thursday.
The temblor did not have the potential to trigger a tsunami.
