Larijani: US administration should answer for Rigi actions

Tehran, Feb 28, IRNA – Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said the US administration and its president should answer for the actions of the terrorist Abdolmalek Rigi.

Addressing the parliament’s Sunday morning open session, he said the US should also offer explanations for what Rigi has already confessed about the supports he has received from the US.

Larijani urged the Iranian officials to follow up the issue of cooperation offered to Rigi by a number of European as well as regional countries.

Pointing to Rigi’s confessions regarding his cooperation with the US intelligence services and those of a number of European countries, Larijani noted Rigi’s remarks just confirmed Iran’s past intelligence reports.

He further hailed the brilliant performance of Iran’s Information Ministry officers in arresting Rigi.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the speaker said the mottos of peace being chanted by hegemonic powers was like singing a song in a barren land.

He stressed that the Isalmic Ummah was already seeing beyond the seemingly “different” but hollow remarks uttered by the US president.

Referring to the presence of the Islamic Ummah leaders in Tehran, he said all sorts of superficial peace plans were offered during the past six decades of resistance by Palestinian nation but those who followed them out of either deceitfulness or simple-mindedness have finally realized that the Zionist regime would never respect the rights of the Palestinian nation.

Larijani believed the only way for Palestinians to gain their ultimate objective was brave resistance.

The speaker also briefed the parliament on his visit to Japan which ended on Saturday./end
