Hosseini: Iran-Tunisia to boost cinematic co-op

Tehran, Feb 28, IRNA -- Culture and Islamic Guidance Minister Mohammad Hosseini said on Saturday that Iran and Tunisia have agreed to boost cinematic cooperation.

Hosseini made the comments upon his arrival in Tehran. Referring to his meeting with Tunisian Minister of Culture and Preservation of Heritage Minister Abderraouf al-Baseti, hosseini said that they both discussed holding Tunisia Cultural Week and book fairs in Iran, producing joint films and expansion of cultural and artistic ties.

The grounds for cooperation in the field of film production are prepared, he said, voicing Iran’s readiness to collaborate with Tunisia to screen Iranian films in that country.

Hosseini was in Tunisia to attend the closing ceremony of ‘Kairouan the 2009 Cultural Capital of Islamic World’ on February 25.

He conferred with the Tunisian Prime Minister Mohammed Al-Gha and several culture ministers of other countries present in the ceremony./end
