Int’l Halal Food Exhibit to open in Tehran

Tehran, Feb 28, IRNA -- The 1st International Halal Food Exhibition will be held at the Tehran International Trade Fair on March 2-5.
Deputy head of Iran’s Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines for international affairs, Mehdi Fakheri said that the event is to be held in an area of 3,500 square meters with participation 12 countries.
They will present their products in the four categories of Halal food, pharmaceuticals, make-up and hygienic materials, he noted.
Putting the rate of international Halal food trade at 500 billion dollars, he said that in some areas, non-Muslim countries have overtaken the Muslim states.
Referring to the compilation of Halal Standard Document by Iran’s Chamber of Commerce and Industries and Islamic Chamber Research and Information Center, Fakheri said that a seminar will also be held to discuss the scientific and jurisprudential objectives of Halal.
Concurrent with the exhibit, a seminar on renewable energies will also be held, Fakheri said./end
