Supreme Leader: Palestinian resistance disgraced enemies
Tehran, Feb 28, IRNA -- Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said on Saturday that the brave resistance of the Palestinians revealed the scandal of the so-called advocates of human rights in western countries and disgraced them.
The Supreme Leader made the remarks in a meeting with a group of Palestinian officials who came to Iran to attend International Conference on 'National and Islamic solidarity for future of Palestine' simultaneous with unity week marking the birth anniversary of grand Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
The Supreme Leader said that resistance of the Palestine nation to the occupying regime will help them retake the holy Qods and Palestine and that the usurper regime has no fate except for annihilation.
Praising the courage of Palestinians living in Gaza, the Supreme Leader said there is no doubt they will achieve triumph to the disgrace of the notorious Zionists and their supporters.
The Palestinian nation deserves to be recognized as as the bravest nation throughout history, underlined the Supreme Leader.
"The Zionists and its supporters had planned to strike heavy blow to people in Gaza and The West Bank, but, the brave Palestinian nation should be confident that they will be the final winner of the campaign against occupation," said the Supreme Leader.
Ayatollah Khamenei said that belief in God and genuine faith will be the key to their success.
Elsewhere in his speech, the Supreme Leader said that victory of Iranian nation in their struggle with the tyrannical monarchial regime was a promise given by God, adding that they enjoyed full support from the US and the west but had no alternative except to admit to nation’s will and the same path will be available for the Palestinians.
In reference to media campaign of the western countries to support the occupying regime, the Supreme Leader said that when the world nations took to the streets, some European states -- the so-called advocates of human rights -- were urged to condemn the crimes perpetrated by the Zionist regime.
The Supreme Leader criticized the United Nations for its failure to stop the crimes and atrocities committed by the Zionist regime during 22-day war in Gaza as another disgrace for them.
The Supreme Leader said that based on the report prvided by (U.N. Representative)Richard Goldstone, the criminal leaders of the Zionist regime should be put on trial but nothing happened and instead, the support for the usurper regime has increased dramatically.
"Most of the Arab states failed in the test during 22-day war in Gaza, they called the issue as Arabic but failed to fulfill their pledges with regard to Palestinians leaving alone their Palestinian brothers in the fighting with the enemy. It will be registered in history."
The Supreme Leader said that pledge of change undertaken by US President Barack Obama was a chance to revise the US wrong policies but it turned to be a great lie and the Iranian nation is very familiar to such lies in the past 30 years.
The issue of Palestine is a serious challenge for the western civilization and the so-called advocates of liberal democracy, said the Supreme Leader.
"The issue of Palestine has turned to a yardstick to distinguish the true and false advocates of freedom and human rights round the globe."
On formation of new Islamic Middle East, the Supreme Leader said the Islamic states shoulder a grave responsibility to this effect and should enlighten their nations and spare no efforts to back Palestinians.
“We are quite well-aware of the fact that the US is much stronger than us in terms of economy, politics, and military but with reliance upon Almighty God, we are much stronger,” said the Supreme Leader.
"With Grace of Allah, the holy Qods will be liberated and the world people will witness such a great event."/end
