Larijani pays tribute to Nakasaki atomic attack victims

Tehran, Feb 27, IRNA – Iran’s Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani paid homage to victims of Nakasaki atomic bomb attack by visiting the Peace Memorial in the city.

Talking to reporters after the visit, he praised the decision of Japanese authorities in setting up a museum of the criminal act undertaken by the US against its citizens who fell victims to the US atomic bombardment.

He said the museum would remind all of the US of the crimes against human beings forever.

Terming as unprecedented and exclusive the extend of the crimes committed by the US against humanity, he stressed that the American policies still remained the same, with proliferation process of the US atomic warheads having sped to tens of thousands instead of the two used against Japan.

He expressed regret that other countries like France, Britain, China and Russia have also joined the race to produce greater number of nuclear warheads while the Zionist regime already possesses hundreds of them.

He urged all world nations to raise against proliferation of nuclear weapons and said an international gathering on the same issue will be hold in Iran in two months.

According to the speaker, the gathering will explore the reasons why the contents of the Non-Proliferation Treaty are not fully observed by a certain number of its signatories.

On the last day of his four-day visit to Japan, Larijani also participated in a bonquet by Iranians residing in Japan. The speaker left Tehran for Tokyo, Japan, Monday night upon an invitation by his Japanese counterpart./end
