'Those not respecting law not eligible to be part of system'

TEHRAN, Feb. 27 (MNA) -- Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has said that the Islamic system is founded on “divine geometry”, law, and the people’s vote, and those who violate these principles are not eligible to be part of the Islamic system.
The Supreme Leader made the remarks at a meeting with the members of the Assembly of Experts in Tehran on Thursday.
“Those who do not respect the law and the majority vote have jumped off the rescue ship (the Islamic system), and by their own hands have disqualified themselves” from participating in the Islamic system, he stated.
But those who believe in the Constitution and the establishment are inside the Islamic system, he asserted.
Commenting on the reliance of the Islamic system on God, he said that in ruling systems that are based on a divine plan, an individual’s mistakes can be corrected and faults and shortcomings can be resolved, and this is why it is important to establish systems based on a divine plan that guarantees the wellbeing of nations.
He went on to say that safeguarding the Islamic system has been the main challenge facing the Iranian nation over the past 31 years, adding that the establishment of the Islamic system woke up the Muslim world and undermined the interests of the hegemonistic powers.
This has instigated “all the oppressors and tyrants in the world to challenge the Islamic Republic and conspire against it, so everyone should do their best to safeguard and consolidate the establishment,” he noted.
Ayatollah Khamenei stated that monotheism is the main principle of the establishment, and justice, human dignity, and respecting the people’s votes and demands are the other main principles, and that is why elections are important in Iran.
Those who provoked the post-election incidents sought to deny the people’s vote and sully the establishment’s image, and “by committing such a great sin, did not recognize the law,” he added.
He said that the best system of government is the one that allows for change while maintaining its stability and noted that the Islamic Republic guarantees the stability of the establishment while making allowances for change through elections.
The Leader also called on those who participate in elections to prioritize national interests over their political groups’ interests.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he urged the elites to differentiate themselves from the enemies of the Islamic establishment.
