Gas will reinforce 2010 economy in Yemen: CBY governor

SANA'A, Feb. 24 (Saba) - The
target economic growth in 2010 in Yemen will be supported by the developments in gas
and
non-oil sectors, Central Bank Governor Ahmad al-Samawi said Wednesday.
Al-Samawi added that the economic growth would also be improved by the activation
of donor-funded investments which are to be promoted in the light of the expectant
results
of London and Riyadh meetings.
During his meeting with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation head Todd
Schneider, the Governor made clear that the Yemeni government is continuing the
implementation
of the financial and economic reform program, which aims to maintain the economic
achievements attained during the past period.
For his part, Schneider affirmed the IMF readiness to offer the financial and
technical support to prop up the government's reform efforts.
