Yemen, WB discuss upgrading trade integration study

SANA'A, Feb.24 (Saba)- Yemen and
the World Bank (WB) discussed here on Wednesday the bank's assistance to the
Ministry
of Industry and Trade to update the study of trade integration and the trade
facilitation project.
The project aims to provide assistance to some agencies such as customs, land
transport, and specifications and standards in order to develop mechanisms to
facilitate the
work with respect to the procedures of goods.
During a meeting gathered the Minister of Industry and Trade Yahya al-Mutawakil and
Director of the WB's office in Sana'a Benson Ateng, the two sides stressed the need
to
activate the common mechanism of the joint work between the ministry and the World
Bank.
Furthermore, they dealt with the role that could be done by the World Bank to
support the current efforts exerted by the ministry to promote the Yemeni
industrial sector
, especially after the completion of the industrial development strategy.
