Iranian cartoonist wins first prize at Italian festival
TEHRAN, Feb. 24 (MNA) -- Iranian cartoonist Mohammad Kargar took first prize at the 2010 edition of Italian International Festival of Graphic Humor.
The 12th Festival Internazionale di Humor Grafico with the central theme of “Without H20 there’s nothing to laugh about” selected seven winners this year.
The festival jury composed by Francesco Tullio Altan, Sergio Staino, Massimo Bucchi, Mauro Talarico, Marco De Angelis, Lucio Trojano and Julio Lubetkin chose the winners.
Kargar took the first prize of “Humorist Cause” with a silver plate. The second prize went to Paolo del Vaglio from Italy, and the third Prize went to Ba Bilig, from China.
Young Sik Oh from South Korea took the 4th prize. The 5th prize went to Mehmet Kahrman (Turkey), the 6th to Raed Khalil (Syria) and Osvaldo Da Silva Costa from Brazil and Dorux Axinte from Romania shared the 7th prize.
Mahmud Nazari, Reza Mokhtar Jozani, Amir Amini, Maryam Rahimipur, Leyla Pirmohammadi, Mahmud Azadnia, and Elham Irannejad were among other Iranian participants at the competition.
