Bangladeshi workers can avail more jobs in Brunei: says envoy

DHAKA, Bangladesh, June 26 (BSS)-Brunei will need more manpower for running its big projects and Bangladeshi workers can avail the
opportunity of getting more jobs there as their performance is
good.

Outgoing High Commissioner of Brunei Haji Abdul Rahman Bin
Abdul Hamid said this while he paid a farewell call on Chief
Adviser Dr Fakhruddin Ahmed at his office here.

After the call on, Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser Syed
Fahim Munaim told journalists that Dr Fakhruddin appreciated
Brunei for engaging Bangladeshi skilled and semi-skilled manpower
and expressed the hope that this trend will continue in future.

It is a win-win situation, he said and added the Bangladeshi
workers are contributing to building the economy of Brunei and at
the same time sending remittance to home.

Terming the Bangladeshis as good workers, the High
Commissioner said every month they are getting employment in
Brunei with a higher salary and the employers recruits them
directly.

Describing Bangladesh-Brunei relations as excellent, Dr
Fakhruddin said the bilateral ties are deeply rooted in common
faith and culture. He expressed the hope that the relations
between the two brotherly countries will be strengthened in the
days coming.

The Chief Adviser thanked the High Commissioner for his
successful tenure in Bangladesh and making significant
contribution to boosting bilateral relationship.

He said Bangladesh is committed to maintaining its image as a
liberal and tolerant Muslim democratic country and it actively
pursues good neighborly relations in South Asia, he added.

Referring to his meeting with the Sultan of Brunei during
the last OIC Summit in Senegal, the Chief Adviser said they
exchanged views on various issues, including bilateral interest.

Secretary to the Chief Adviser's Office Kazi M Aminul Islam
and Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser Syed Fahim Munaim were
present.
