France grants €37.5mln for funding power project in Yemen
SANA'A, Feb. 22
(Saba)-Yemen and France signed on Monday an agreement of funding a project of
electricity in rural
regions at sum of € 37 million.
Under the agreement, the French agency for development would present € 37.5 million
as contribution of the French side to the project in addition to World Bank and
Islamic
Bank for Development.
The agreement was signed by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Planning and
International cooperation Abdul Kareem al-Arhabi from the Yemeni side and Director
of
the French agency Christian Flamant and French ambassador to Sana'a Joseph Silva
from the French side.
Al- Arhabi appreciated the French contribution to the development process in Yemen,
affirming concern of the Yemeni government to enhance its ties with France.
