Yemen seeks Jordanian support to establish stock market
SANA'A, Feb. 22 (Saba) -
Yemen and Jordan discussed here on Monday the Jordanian technical support to
establish a stock
market in Yemen.
Finance Minister Nu'aman al-Suhaybi held talks with a delegation of the Jordan
Securities Commission (JSC) and Amman Stock Market in Jordan headed by the director
of Research
and International Relations department Mazen al-Wadha'efi the cooperation between
the two sides in the highlight of the memo of understanding signed between Finance
Ministry
and Jordan Securities Commission (JSC).
Al-Suhaybi said that the ministry has prepared several studies on the establishment
of stock market on Yemen, adding that Yemen has held several talks with officials
in
Dubai, Canada and USA in this regard.
He hoped that the talks between Yemen and Jordan would come out with to set up an
action plan to launch Yemen's stock market, praising the high level of
Yemeni-Jordan strong
relations.
For his part, al-Wadha'efi confirmed that Jordan would provide all kind of support
to Yemen in order to launch a stock market as soon as possible.
