IMF to continue support monetary reforms in Yemen

SANA'A, Feb. 23 (Saba) - The
International Monetary Fund (IMF) voiced on Tuesday its readiness to continue to
present the
required assistance to carry out the monetary and economic reforms.
During his meeting with Minister of Finance Nu'aman al-Suhaybi, the head of the IMF
delegation Hasan al-Atrash valued the government's efforts to implement the reforms
adopted
in national agenda.
Al-Suhaybi renewed the call to donors, topped by the IMF, to support the reforms in
Yemen, affirming the keenness on carrying on the implementation of the reform
package
the government adopted in its national agenda to maintain the fiscal and monetary
stabilization.
The meeting also touched on the bilateral cooperation and the challenges Yemeni
economy faces.
Yemen and the IMF held periodically meetings to review the government efforts and
its outcomes in the reform area.
