WB PRAISES YEMEN IN IMPLEMENTING PROJECT OF REFORMING HEALTH SECTOR

SANA'A, Feb. 22 (Saba)- World Bank (WB) has praised achievement of
Yemen in field of reforming the health sector by achieving
objectives of a loan presented by the bank at sum of $ 34 million.

According to report of the bank over the loan presented to the
project of reforming health sector, the project achieved its
objectives with good level. The report appreciated commitment of the
Yemeni government to overcome challenges facing process of
implementing the project during the period from 2006 to 2009.

Meanwhile, Minister of Public Health and Population Abdul Kareem
Rasi headed a meeting for officials of the health sector to discuss
the report.

Director of loans unit at the ministry Faoziah Hamd said that main
achievements of the project were extension of 17 health centers and
four hospitals in several governorates in addition to building
Manakha Hospital.
