Damascus hosting 2nd Iran-Syria Children Friendship Week

Damascus, Syria, Feb 22, IRNA -- Second Iran-Syria Children Friendship Week and an exclusive exhibit for children opened at Iranian Cultural Office in presence of a number of the Iranian and Syrian children.
Secretary of the exhibition, Ahmad Firouzabadi told IRNA in Damascus that the exhibit is co-sponsored by Iranian Cultural Office, Iranian Embassy, the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (IDCYA) and Syria’s Culture Ministry.
The friendship week seeks to get the Iranian children acquainted with their Syrian counterparts, especially their culture and civilization, he said.
Commenting on the activities of the institute, Firouzabadi noted that producing children films, publishing books, reciting poetry, painting, calligraphy, pottery, animation and language teaching are among the main undertakings of the entity.
As to the Iran-Syria Children Friendship Week, he said that some 3,000 volumes of books, 100 selected paintings of Iranian children at the foreign festivals and 100 photos taken by them will be displayed during the week.
Screening several short films produced by the institute is also on the agenda, he said./end
