Yemen, Japan sign deal

SANA'A, Feb. 20 (Saba) - Yemen and Japan signed on Saturday
an agreement under which Japan International Cooperation Agency JICA will provide
equipment
to the Sana'a University's Central Labs.
The equipment will include modern labs at a cost of $ 13 million.
The deal was signed by Miniser of Higher Education and Scientific Research Saleh
BaSurrah and JICA's representative in the country Takeshi Komori.
The services provided by the labs will not only be limited to the students, other
people will be able to use them for simple fees, BaSurrah said after the signing.
On the other hand, the minister discussed with expert in strategic planning for
mental health at the Social Development Fund Rachel Jenkins aspects of cooperation
between
the Yemeni universities and the fund in the field of mental health.
During the meeting, BaSurrah made a brief on mental science at the universities and
related activities, stressing the importance of sending mental health experts to
Yemeni
schools to help the students establish better lives in the future.
For her part, Jenkins stressed the importance of training mental health and social
experts, urging to assign experts at various schools in the country.
