Second Russian aid shipment lands in Yemen

SANA'A, Feb. 20 (Saba) - A Russian plane
arrived on Friday in Yemen carrying the second relief shipment for the displaced
people
in the far north.
The shipment included about 30 tons of foodstuffs, tents and covers in addition to
an electric generator of 80 kw capacity.
Chief of the executive unit in charge of camp management Ahmad al-Kohlani pointed
out in a statement to Saba that the second shipment of Russian aid demonstrated the
deep-rooted
bilateral relationship between the two countries.
The relief materials would be allocated for the camps inside Saada after some
refused to return to their homes after the ceasefire until their houses are built,
he said.
However, some have started to return and those refusing remain in urgent need for
aid, he added.
For his part, deputy Russian ambassador to Yemen said in a statement that Russia is
keen to support Yemen within the historic ties between the two friends, affirming
that
the Russian government stands by Yemen in tough times.
The first shipment arrived in the country on Monday onboard two planes.
