ONE KILLED IN NORTH YEMEN SECOND MINE BLAST SINCE CEASEFIRE STARTED
SAADA, Feb. 19 (Saba) – A citizen was killed and three others were injured on Friday in a landmine blast that occurred as the committees supervising a ceasefire between the government and the Houthi rebels continued to eliminate landmines in Saada.
The accident in Almalaheedh district was the second since the ceasefire was brought into effect almost a week a go.
A 30-year-old man was killed and the ages of injured were between 21-24. They got injuries in their bodies and taken to hospital.
Last Monday, seven people including five, two soldiers and three Houthi rebels, of a supervising committee were killed in a landmine explosion in Al Ukab district. 23 others were reported wounded in the explosion including three policemen in critical condition.
Meanwhile, the Interior Ministry has urged the rebels to hand land maps quickly to avoid more similar accidents.
