SEPARATIST AMBUSH KILLS POLICEMAN, INJURES OTHERS IN SOUTH YEMEN



DHALE, Feb. 19 (Saba) – A Yemeni policeman and a guard were killed in an ambush on Friday in the southern province of Dhale that officials said was carried out by separatists.

The dead were head of the Criminal Investigative Branch in Dhale district Ali Ahmed al-Halimi and one of the guards who accompanied him and other officials.

Three others were injured in the ambush that took place in Alazariq district. They were head of the agriculture office in the district Ahmed Hassan Nasher, police director in the district of Dhale and another guard.

Guard Muhammad Muhsen Jawhar died in hospital from the injuries he got in the ambush that was implemented while they were going back from Friday prayers.

Separatists were behind the heinous crime and orders were given to hunt them and bring them to justice, local officials said.
