Five foreign nationals arrested during Feb. 11 rallies: Iran's prosecutor
TEHRAN, Feb. 18 (MNA) – Tehran Prosecutor Abbas Jafari Dolatabadi announced that five foreign nationals were arrested during the February 11 rallies in Tehran.
“Five foreign nationals including two Russians, a French, an Afghan, and a Japanese were arrested on the sidelines of the February 11 rallies. The Japanese, French and one of the Russian nationals were released since no charge was made against them,” Jafari said on Wednesday.
He went on to say that the Afghan national was arrested on the charge of participating in illegal gatherings and was turned over to the relevant judicial body.
One of the Russian nationals was arrested due to illegal entry into the country and the legal procedure on his case is underway in the court, he added.
“Five foreign nationals including two Russians, a French, an Afghan, and a Japanese were arrested on the sidelines of the February 11 rallies. The Japanese, French and one of the Russian nationals were released since no charge was made against them,” Jafari said on Wednesday.
He went on to say that the Afghan national was arrested on the charge of participating in illegal gatherings and was turned over to the relevant judicial body.
One of the Russian nationals was arrested due to illegal entry into the country and the legal procedure on his case is underway in the court, he added.
