AL-ARHABI: YEMEN IS KEEN TO BOOST COOPERATION WITH UNDP



SANA'A, Feb.17 (Saba) - Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs
and Minister of Planning and Intl. Cooperation Abdul Karim al-Arhabi
met here on Wednesday with the UNDP's Resident- Coordinator in Yemen
Pratibha Mehta.

Al-Arhabi noted to the UNDP's contributions to support the
development process in Yemen, affirming Yemen's keenness to boost
the current bilateral cooperation with the program.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed a number of issues
relating to the existing cooperation between Yemen and the program.

On another hand, al-Arhabi, met with the UNICEF Representative in
Yemen Aboudou Karimou Adjibade to bid farewell to him on ending his
tenure in Yemen.

He expressed his appreciation for the role of the UNICEF's
representative in Yemen in enhancing and developing the cooperation
relations between Yemen and UNICEF.

Meanwhile, he praised the UNICEF's contributions to serve issues of
women, child and education in Yemen and the organization's effective
role in supporting the humanitarian relief efforts for the displaced
people due to the recent war in Saada province.

For his part, the UNICEF's official voiced his appreciation for the
facilities granted to him by the Yemeni government to enable him to
carry out his duties in Yemen, confirming the organization's
attention to reinforce the current and future cooperation with Yemen.
