YEMEN, JICA INSPECT BRIDGE PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION IN TAIZ
TAIZ, Feb. 16 (Saba) - Yemen and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) reviewed here on Tuesday the JICA's Broadening Regional Initiative for Developing Girls' Education (BRIDGE) program.
General Secretary of Taiz Local Council Mohammed Ahmed al-Hajj along with Donors' Coordinator at JICA's Educational Administration and JICA's Project Formulation Adviser also reviewed the 59 schools in several districts of the governorate the BRIDGE program implemented in.
The meeting discussed the situation of the new schools within the second stage of the program, which included 60 schools to be carried out by the province leadership.
Al-Hajj praised the JICA's support and the achievements attained through implementing the BRIDGE program in the province and its successes in girl education.
He also affirmed the obligation of the province to continue the provision of the needed facilities and to remove all difficulties impeding the program.
For his part, JICA's coordinator said that BRIDGE program, implemented in Taiz province, is one of the most typical projects among those JICA implementing all over the world.
