Iran’s cultural week underway in Albania

TEHRAN, Feb. 15 (MNA) -- A selection of Iranian artworks are now on display at the National History Museum of Albania where Iran’s cultural week is currently underway.

Iran’s cultural week opened in Tirana on Thursday in the presence of Iranian artists and cultural figures, religious and cultural figures of Albania and several foreign ambassadors.

A collection of Iranian kilims, works of miniature, calligraphy and paintings, a selection of photos as well a number of local and traditional costumes have been put on exhibit.

Iran’s ambassador to Tirana Alibeman Eqbalizarch, also present at the opening ceremony, gave a short speech on the history of art among Iranian nations and the world famous artworks of Iranians.

He regarded the exhibit as the best way to present a clear image of Iranian art, culture and civilization to the people of Albania and expressed hope it would help reinforce the relationship between the two nations.

The exhibit has been warmly received over the past days by visitors and the press in Albania.
