Iran calls for global nuclear disarmament

TEHRAN, Feb. 14 (MNA) - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has called for a worldwide nuclear disarmament, saying that the era of nuclear weapons is over.
“Today, no one can use a nuclear weapon and we believe that the U.S. is taking a wrong move by stockpiling nuclear weapons,” the president told the Russian channel NTV aired Friday.
Ahmadinejad pointed out that despite United States’ enormous nuclear arsenal, it has been unable to achieve victory in Iraq or Afghanistan.
Ahmadinejad also labeled nuclear weapons as “inhumane” and said that the nuclear-armed nations should dismantle their own arsenals to prove their sincerity.
