GOVT PAYS BIG ATTENTION TO INVESTMENT PROMOTION IN MINERALS SECTOR

SANA'A, Feb.15 (Saba) – Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Abdul Karim al-Arhabi pointed out on Monday that the government pays big attention to the investment promotion in the minerals sector in Yemen which hoards a lot of promising investment opportunities.

This came during a meeting gathered al-Arhabi with Chief of Mining Sector at the World Bank (WB) Powell DC.

In the meeting, the two sides discussed aspects of the current cooperation between Yemen and the WB and means of boosting them so as to serve the common goals as well as the cooperation issues in the mining sector and ways of strengthening the current partnership in this area.

The two sides dealt with issues relating to the extractions sector and the Yemeni government's capacity associated with legislations, agreements, negotiation and promotion as well as taking advantage of the available international support mechanisms at the bank.

Al-Arhabi affirmed the government's keenness to strengthen frames of the existing cooperation with the WB, noting to the need to enable Yemen to avail from the international support mechanisms in the bank.
