UNHCR TO ASSIST RETURNING DISPLACED PEOPLE TO SAADA



SANA'A, Feb. 15 (Saba) - UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) assured here on Monday the commissioner's willingness to provide assistance in the area of returning the displaced people to their houses in Saada province in the light of the ceasefire deal.

During his meeting with Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi, Director of the UNHCR regional office for Middle East and North Africa Redhwan Nuwaiser said that the organization is to continue its efforts to support the government to face the challenges emerging from the refugee phenomenon.

The Minister briefed the UNHCR delegation on the latest developments in Saada province and the Yemeni assistance from the organization to provide the basic needs for the displaced people and to face the economic burdens emerged from the increasing influx of African refugees to the country.

The two sides also discussed the cooperation issues between Yemen and the commissioner, topped by displaced people and refugees' issues in Saada province.
