13 SOLDIERS KILLED IN HELICOPTER CRASH IN NORTHERN YEMEN

SANA'A, Feb. 15 (Saba) – 13 Yemeni soldiers were killed and a soldier was wounded on Sunday in a helicopter crash in a Saada airport, northern Yemen, a military source has said.

According to the source, a technical fault was blamed for the helicopter crash.

‘’After it took off from the military airport in Saada carrying seven wounded soldiers and its crew of four soldiers, the helicopter had crashed into a military vehicle with three soldiers’’, the source explained.

Saada province has enjoyed a two-day truce so far after President Ali Abdullah Saleh announced last Thursday a ceasefire following the Houthi rebel leader acceptance of the government's six terms.

Saada has witnessed a sporadic six-year war between the military troops and al-Houthi rebels since
2004.

The last round of the war was erupted in August 2009.
