SUPPORT OF GIRLS' ENROLLMENT IN TECHNICAL EDUCATION DISCUSSED

SANA'A, Feb.13 (Saba) - Minister of Technical Education and
Vocational Training Ibrahim Hajri discussed here on Saturday the
International Labour Organization (ILO)'s delegation issues relating
to the mechanism for implementation of the awareness project to
support girls' enrollment in the technical and vocational education.

The project to be launched within the next weeks aims to change the
social negative view on the girls' education and training and to
encourage them to join the programs of technical education and
vocational training.

In the meeting, the two sides pointed the importance of
strengthening the partnership between the girls' education sector
and the organization to implement the project which includes
preparation of six awareness TV flashes and a documentary film on
the importance of technical and vocational education for the girls.

It also includes holding a workshop to workshop to draw out
awareness messages based on Yemeni prospective and another workshop
to discuss the media documents and assess their effectiveness in the
Yemeni society.

In the meeting, Hajri valued the efforts exerted by the ILO to
support the programs of the technical education and vocational
training, especially with regard to the social awareness of the
importance of girls' enrollment in the technical and vocational
education programs across the country.

He affirmed that the project is a part of a big awareness program
