AL-ARHABI: LONDON MEETING DEVELOP CONSENSUS VISION BETWEEN YEMEN, DONORS

SANA'A, Feb. 13 (Saba) - Minister of Planning and International
Cooperation Abdul-Karim al-Arhabi has said that London meeting
contributed to develop a consensus vision between Yemeni government
and donors for identifying the challenges facing Yemen.

In an interview with Saba, al-Arhabi said that the vision focused on
helping Yemen to overcome all its problems by itself without any
external interference and the donors' role will be restricted to
providing help.

He also affirmed the donors have appreciated Yemen reforms that have
been achieved since 2006, topped by the reforms in fields of tenders
and procurement law.

Yemen is to develop reforms program with the partnership of
International Monetary Fund (IMF), he said.

He also made clear that Yemen is facing very complicated challenges,
which are over its potential and ability, hoping donors will
contribute to play an active role to help Yemen to solve these
problems and challenges.

The Minister said that Riyadh meeting, which scheduled to be held at
the end of the current month, would be devoted to discuss the
preparations for another meeting to be held in Berlin, Germany, late
in March for 'Friends of Yemen' group which will gather a number of
major industrial countries and GCC states.
