Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ According to the report of the Bank of Mongolia, at the end of January 2010 the money supply (broad money or M2) expanded to 2871.0 bln.togrogs which reflects the decrease of 9.0 bln.togrogs or 0.3 percent over the December 2009, and an increase of 669.8 bln.togrogs or 30.4 percent compared with January 2009.
At the end of January 2010, the currency issued in circulation reached 350.8 bln.togrogs, decreasing 21.0 bln.togrogs or 5.6 percent against December 2009 and increasing 4.2 bln.togrogs or 1.2 percent against January 2009.
The amount of loans outstanding at the end of January 2010 was 2,674.4 bln.togrogs, hence an increase of 19.4 bln.togrogs or 0.7 percent compared with December 2009, by 2.5 bln.togrogs or 0.1 percent compared with January 2009, respectively.
Meanwhile, principals in arrears increased 0.7 bln.togrogs or 0.6 percent over the December of 2009, reaching 122.5 bln.togrogs which was 4.6 percent of total loans outstanding, and decreasing by 2.3 bln.togrogs or 1.0 percent against January 2009.
The amount of non-performing loans reached 458.2 bln.togrogs, which was 17.1 percent of the total loans outstanding, and it decreased 3.8 bln.togrogs or 0.8 percent over the December of 2009, and increased by 262.0 bln.togrogs or 2.3 times against January 2009.
