TOTAL EXPLORES OIL IN SHABWA BLOCK# 85 AT $ 32MLN

SANA'A, Feb.10 (Saba)-Ministry of Oil and Minerals signed on
Wednesday a memorandum of understanding with Total Oil Company.

Under the memo, the French company will spend $32 in exploring on
oil in block 85, Shabwa province- in two phases by drill four wells
minimum.

It was signed by the Deputy Minister of Oil and Minerals Ahmed Daris
and deputy executive Director of the Company for Middle East.

Meanwhile, the delegation of the company held a meeting with the
minister of oil and exploration and voiced desire of the company to
extend its investments in the country.

They also discussed investment opportunities in fields of oil, gas
and minerals in the country.

The minister welcomed the French investments in the country, saying
that these investments would receive care of the government.

He made it clear that there are 100 oil blocks in the country
including 12 productive blocks.
