JOINING YEMEN TO GSO TO RAISE YEMENI-GULF GOODS EXCHANGE

SANA'A, Feb. 10 (Saba) - The Secretary General of Gulf
Standardization Organization (GSO) Anwar al-Abdullah assured
Wednesday that Yemen's accession to the GSO would promote Yemeni
goods flow into Gulf markets and vice versa.

Prime Minister Ali Mujawar hailed during his meeting with GSO
official the rapid development of the relations between Yemen and
Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states.

The two officials dealt with the good impacts of Yemen official
accession, presented by Yemen Standardization, Metrology and Quality
Control Organization (YSMO), to the GSO to serve the trade exchange
between Yemen and GCC states through unifying standardizations and
specifications for industries and commercial products.

Mujawar affirmed the importance role the GSO plays in developing
industries and fighting commercial fraud.

The strict adherence to apply the unified standardization by
manufacturers will help in developing Yemeni exports not only to
Gulf markets but also to the international ones, he added.

In return, the Secretary General reviewed the GSO various activities
to serve the efforts implemented to enhance the competitiveness
process.

He also noted Yemen presidency over GSO will support trade
integration among GSO states members.
