YEMEN PARTAKES IN 85TH SESSION OF AL ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL COUNCIL



SANA'A, Feb. 10 (Saba) - Yemen is participating in the 85th session
of the Arab League's Economic and Social Council being held
currently in Kuwait.

Upon his departure to Kuwait, Minister of Industry and Trade Yahya
al-Mutawakil made clear that the session is to deal with issues,
which are to be discussed in the upcoming Arab summit to be held in
Libya in March.

He also noted that the summit's issues will include the Great Arab
Free Trade Area (GAFTA) and the difficulties deterring its
establishment as well as development issues relating to projects and
programs of creating job opportunities for youths and curbing of
unemployment in Arab region.

The session is to discuss the technical committee's report on
restructuring the Economic and Social Council to cope with new
coming developments, he added.
