Commerce Ministry launches film to honour creative King Bhumibol
NONTHABURI, Feb 10 (TNA) – The Ministry of Commerce Intellectual Property Department on Wednesday debuted a short film to honour and showcase the creativity of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej under the “Creative King” project.
The two-minute documentary film depicts wide-ranging talents of the king such as art, music and inventions and will be screened to the public at all branches of Major Cineplex Group and SF Cinema City’s cinemas from February 14 to April 14.
According to the department, this short film is a part of the government’s Creative Thailand scheme which aims to boost the country to be a hub of the creativity industry in Southeast Asia.
The scheme is also targeted adding economic value of the creative industry to reach the target of 20 per cent of Gross National Product (GNP) by the end of 2012 from the 12 per cent it currently occupies.
The Intellectual Property Department has targeted the Creative Thailand scheme to motivate creative Thai people to jointly drive the economy by government support which will result in development of the creative economy. (TNA)
