Thousands run for peace in Hanoi
Hanoi, June 23 (VNA) - Over 3,500 amateur athletes from 42 teams of Hanoi on June 22 joined in a race to launch the 35th annual Run for Peace sponsored by the Hanoi Moi (New Hanoi) daily.
A total of 624 local teams will take part in qualifying rounds in the capital from June 23 to the end of September.
The best runners will compete against professional athletes from 20 teams of other localities, several foreign teams and tourists in the final race around Hoan Kiem Lake on October 5.
