ABOUT "NEW ART LEADER" SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ Mongolia's Art Council (MAC) has launched "New Art Leader" scholarship program at the World Bank sponsorship. The initiative is designed to promote sustainable development of the local art by cultivating and empowering young leaders in the art sand culture and providing a platform for collaboration.
Some young artists, aged 18-25, participated in the “The New Art Leader" program and completed six series of courses covering leadership, strategic planning, intellectual property, marketing, performance touring, and cultural tourism all of which enhanced the participants' knowledge, competitiveness and expanded their network base. The participants developed their marketing portfolio with the assistance of MAC and created a web site "www.thefl15.com", aka Fabulous Fifteen.
As part of the program, MAC has published a handbook for artists titled "Gateway to Success". The handbook is intended to provide emerging artists with guidance on finding sponsorship, fundraising, cultural & art event planning, management, marketing, important considerations for overseas touring and fostering international networking. “Gateway to Success” has been published in 500 copies and will soon reach its audience.
The Commencement ceremony dedicated to the 15 leaders that partook in the program took part in Khan Bank Art Gallery February 8. The exhibition of the young artists was displayed at the ceremony. Furthermore, web site inauguration, “Gateway to Success” book release and certificate awarding ceremony ran during the event. The “Fabulous Fifteen” exhibition will be hosted by Khan bank Art Gallery February 8-12.
