UNHCR GRANTS USD 20 THOUSAND

Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ A Minister of Foreign Affairs G.Zandanshatar received Tuesday Veerapong Vongvarotai, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Regional Representative to China and Mongolia, in Ulaanbaatar.
The dignitaries exchanged views on the cooperation between Mongolia's government and the UNHCR. They discussed an issue of Mongolia's joining the Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees of 1951 and to its optional protocol of 1967.
During the meeting, Mr Vongvarotai granted an assistance of USD 20 thousand to Mongolian dedicating it to herdsmen who are suffering from trhe zud disasters. The assistance has come from the UNHCR.
