PHOTO EXHIBITION OPENS IN AUSTRALIA


Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ A photo exhibition themed "Tribute to Mongolia, country and people" has opened in the Mary Place Gallery in Sydney, Australia. It is co-organized by the Embassy of Mongolia in Australia, the Honorary Consulate of Mongolia and the "Xanadu Mines" Company.
The exhibition is showing 60 photos taken by Australian citizens Peter Sykes and Gregory Fournier who visited Mongolia some time ago. At the opening ceremony, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to Australia Ts.Jambaldorj gave a speech. He spoke about the dzud, overwintering difficulties and governmental measures, and then urged the gathered to help the Mongolian herdsmen.
Present at the inauguration were some 150 people such as representatives of Australian companies, who propagandize Mongolia, Mongolian students studying there. This exhibition will last until February 21.
Meanwhile, a documentary film about Mongolia has been shown at an international cultural festival in Canberra. The festival is orhanized every year. After the documentary, the Mongolian students showed national costumes.
