Prince Harry to take comrades back into desert
London, Jun 21 (PTI) - Prince Harry, the third-in-line
to the British throne, is planning to lead his men back into the desert -- this time, the destination is not war-ravaged Afghanistan, but Namibia.
The 23-year-old Army officer plans to treat his 23 comrades to the trip of a lifetime in the dunes of the country in southern Africa where they will spend six days, crossing sandy planes as they would head to the famous Skeleton Coast.
The team will travel by Land Rover and sleep under the stars on a survival skills trip, evoking memories of their times in Helmand Province, 'The Sun' reported.
However, instead of automatic guns, Harry and his men will be armed with cameras in the hope of picturing wildlife in one of the world's most beautiful and remotest spots.
The trek, organised as official Army adventurous training, was planned by Lt Wales since returning from action in March.
"He (Harry) has been excited by the trip for weeks. He sees it as a way of thanking his men and treating them to an experience they will never forget," the British tabloid quoted an unnamed source as saying.
Next month Harry will take the group to Lesotho in southern Africa to boost his Aids charity.
