PRESIDENTIAL INSTRUCTION NO. 5 JUST ONE OF GOVT'S ECONOMIC PROGRAMS

Jakarta, June 21 (ANTARA) - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Sri Mulyani Indrawati said Presidential Instruction No. 5/2008 on the Focus of the 2008-2009 Economic Programs was just one of the government's many economic programs.
"Presidential Instruction No. 5/2008 is just one of many economic programs being implemented. It's part of a package," Mulyani said after holding a meeting with editors in chief here late Friday.
Beside implementing economic programs with specific time frame targets set in Presidential Instruction No. 5/2008, the government would continue to also deal with other outstanding economic issues, she said.
"So, there are many issues which continue to need the government's attention such as the energy sector, food, economic zones, negative investment list, and investment incentives. Some of of the government's policies on these issues are now being finalized," the minister said.
The government was also attending to regional commitments such as the establishment of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), she said.
