London, June 21 (ANTARA) - A joint delegation of state-owned radio corporation RRI and radio transmission equipmnt provider PT Len Industry is making a week-long visit in the United Kingdom to explore the possibility of cooperating with British company VT Communication.
"The objective of our visit here is to conduct a comparative study," Sutrisno Santoso, head of RRI's Voice of Indonesia foreign service, said here on Friday, following a meeting with Indonesian Ambassador to Britain and Ireland Yuri Thamrin.
Santoso, who was accompanied by RRI's tehnical affairs manager Eddy Heryanto and PT Lend Industry Project Manager Mursid Indarto, said he would also study the possibility of establishing cooperation in operation and maintenance as well as sparepart supply with VT Communication, one of the world's largest broadcast equipment makers.
He said RRI which has news services in 10 languages, including German, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, and Korean, needed to improve its sound quality.
To reach various countries, RRI needed a better transmission system, among other things by renting air time from VT Communication, he said.
