Iran, Azeri parliament cooperation reviewed
Baku, June 21, IRNA - Iran's Majlis Vice-Speaker Ayatollah Mohammad Hasan Abutorabi-Fard on Friday held talks with Azeri Milli Majlis (Parliament) Speaker Ogtay Asadov on parliamentary ties.
Due to the two countries' basic similarities in culture, history and
religion, Aboutorabi called for strengthening mutual ties.
He added that Iran-Azerbaijan's advanced cooperation makes the role of great powers be faded away in the region.
Asadov, for his part, called for the two countries to bolster
inter-parliamentary relations.
Iran's vice-Majlis speaker flew to Azerbaijan on Thursday to attend
the ceremony in celebration of the 90th anniversary of Azerbaijani
first Parliament.
