PREMIER ADDRESSES FAIR OF MONGOLIAN PRODUCTS


Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ Prime Minister S.Batbold gave a speech at opening of the "Made in Mongolia" exhibition of national products. The event is co-organized by the government and the United Council of Mongolia's Professional Unions.
The Premier underlined that the exhibition mounted for the 4th time seems to have expanded, and said it provides businessmen with opportunities to propagandize products, share experiences and improve a competitiveness. "Types of Mongolia-made products have increased. Their quality has improved as well," he underlined.
"The government always supports national production and will continue to do so. In the previous year, the government granted soft loans of MNT 30.0 billion to businessmen with an aim to back activities of small- and middle-sized production," Batbold said. He mentioned that facilities and equipment for SME have been exempted from the custom tax and VAT, and spoke about measures to be taken for supporting the production.
The year 2010 is announced as a year of Reform of Business Environment with aim to refine upon a legal environment for carrying out business and production and creating conditions freed from pressure and inconveniences, he went on. Thus, Mongolia is to gain opportunities to determine its level of competitiveness and make business sector assessments, he said.
According to him, the government defined basic directions of works to be done in 2010. Mongolia aims to sell national products at the domestic market and to export it to the European market. In view of this, the country will pay an attention to introducing the latest high tech satisfying international standards.
The exhibition will continue until February 8.
