Government relaxes emergency power rules
DHAKA, Bangladesh, June 20 (BSS) - The caretaker government today relaxed the Emergency Power Rules (EPR) allowing processions, rallies and meetings to facilitate the campaigns for the upcoming city corporation and municipal elections.
"Election related processions, meetings and rallies can be
staged and participated in constituencies of city corporations
and in relevant cases municipalities (pourasabha) subject to the
compliance of the Local Government (City Corporation) Ordinance
2008 and Local Government (Pourasabha) Ordinance 2008 and the
rules there under," a gazette notification said.
"Election related processions, meetings and rallies can be
