"EDUCATION" NAT'L PROGRAM APPROVED
Ulaanbaatar,/MONTSAME/ Regular cabinet meeting held on Wednesday approved the "Education" national program in order to implement a parliamentary resolution on approval of the National Development Strategy (NDS) issued January of 2008.
Goals of the NDS will be realized in frames of this program such as to develop the public education as the society deeds and to make the national educational system fit world standards. The program includes enhancing a network of various pre-school organizations, preparing curriculum for preparing six-year-old children for school, transferring into the 12-year educational system, reforming primary and secondary education standards, improving the training quality in accordance with social needs and international standards in way of introducing internationally recognized standards and curriculum.
Other important actions are reflected as to intensify a training-research combination in vocational and higher schools, to found student campuses at universities and institutes, to create a research university, to make a new system of educational quality evaluation, to work out and approve a law on legal status of universities, and to drill internationally accepted standards of content and environment to all levels education organizations.
These measures are to be realized in two phases--between 2010-2015 and between 2016-2021, and will be financed from the state budget, foreign donations, loans and assistance.
