PRESIDENT AND WEF

Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ The World Economic Forum (WEF) Annaul Meeting 2010 winded up last Sunday in Davos, Switzerland. It was attended by state heads of about 40 countries, 2,500 foremost economists, and businessmen and banking experts. All the attendees backed the forum's slogan "Rethink, Redesign, Rebuild".
In frames of the forum, several discussions were held on all spheres such as on economics, financial and business matters, climate change, food and water safety, mining, humanity, education, women's and health issues. Introductions to these issues by scholars and researchers were made to the gathered.
The WEF was an important event for Mongolia in terms of choosing a measure for overcoming the global economic and financial crisis, to learn experiences, to introduce policy and position of Mongolia to foreign countries and to get support.
At invitations, the State of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj gave lectures at a sub-meeting on water issues and a meeting of leaders of metallurgical and mining leaders, and attended some meetings with issues on energy and on strengthening international system of economic leaders. The State Head of Mongolia held meetings with Lee Myung-bak, the President of the Republic of Korea; Klaus Schwab, a founder of the WEF; the Prince Andrew, Duke of York; Jan du Plessis, a chairman of the Rio Tinto Group's Board of Directors; Bill Gates, a founder of the Microsoft Corporation and its Vice President; a billionaire George Soros; Hans-Ulrich Doerig, a chairman of the board of the Credit Suisse Bank; K.Koch-Veser, a vice president of the Deutsche Bank; Simon F. Crean, the Minister for Trade in the Australian Federal Government; the President of the "Areva" Group; and M.Nelly, the President of the PriceWaterhausCoopers Company.
After attending the WEF, the State of Mongolia has left for the Kingdom of Belgium in order to visit the European Union (EU).
