Iran-AU to soon hold summit meeting

Addis Ababa, Feb 1, IRNA – Iran and the African Union are to hold a summit meeting during the second half of 2010, it was announced here on Monday.
The agreement was reached between Iran’s Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki and AU Chairman Jean Ping.
The AU chief reiterated that the African Union is seriously seeking the issue.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 14th summit meeting of the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Referring to the latest developments in the African continent, Mottaki stressed that the African countries are moving towards development.
Later, he said that exchange of delegations between the two sides would prepare the ground for further bilateral cooperation./end
